Special Features

CURRENTLY SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED TO ALL SPECIAL FEATURES  UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Feature One: Poet-Speak (The art of the self-interview) By Invitation Only

Magnapoets is now announcing the return of “Poet- Speak”. This is easily our most popular feature from Magnapoets early blogging days. We are bringing it back with an exciting new twist. Poets will be asked to do a self-interview, in article form. As way of introduction, the first half will be biographical information. The second half will be any topic relevant to poetry from the author’s point of view. Poets will need to ask themselves five questions, but without revealing what those questions are. Those questions will then be answered in essay form. Word limit 500-1500 words. This feature is by invitation only.

Feature Four: Self Portrait (A capture of a moment of your life)

Magnapoets is now announcing a special feature for the January 2012 issue. The theme is called, “Self Portrait”. We are seeking poets and artists who will send either photos, art, essays, poetry, or short stories that describe themselves. Particularly describing a moment of their lives. This can be symbolically or specifically, the choice is yours.
We are not looking for a biography of an entire life story. We are seeking small snippets or self portraits. Each individual poet or artist work can be as loosely or as closely interpreted as you choose. Poets and artists can submit to both the special feature, and the regular portion of the magazine. Please be sure to mark your special feature submission as “Self Portrait” in the subject line of the email. Mark your regular submission as “Magnapoets” in the subject line of the email.
